Robert Hurt is a representative with a transparent voting record as a proven conservative.  He has a history of public service to include serving as chief deputy commonwealth’s attorney in Pittsylvania County,  (on the) Chatham Town Council, three terms in the Virginia House of Delegates and currently in the Virginia State Senate.  I have no doubt that he will continue his proven record of leadership as our next representative in Washington. Mr. Hurt is a native of Southside Virginia, where he resides with his wife, Kathy, and their three young sons.  The 5th Congressional District is his childhood and current home, not his recently acquired address, and he will continue to represent it well.

Robert Hurt is a citizen-legislator and represents approximately 170,000 citizens of the 5th District currently.  He works for us and he knows it.  He will continue to listen to his constituent.

Robert Hurt has a record of promoting private enterprise to create jobs and has a 100% rating from the National Federation of Independent Businesses.  He consistently supports the Second Amendment and has an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association.   He knows how to balance a budget, even when it is painfully unpopular, and he knows that the people of the 5th district want Congressional spending curtailed immediately.
