Rasmussen survey has nearest Hurt Opponent 17-points behind

Chatham, VA - A Rasmussen survey released by the "Fifth District Watchdog" internet site had State Senator Robert Hurt winning by 17 points over his nearest competitor. With just two weeks left until the 5th Congressional District Primary, this is the second survey, released in as many weeks, showing State Senator Robert Hurt with a commanding lead going into the June 8th election.

The ballot showed:

Hurt 25%
McKelvey 8%
Boyd 7%
McPadden 5%
Morton 4%
Ferrin 2%
Verga 1%

Last week the Robert Hurt for Congress Campaign released its internal polling numbers provided by Public Opinion Strategies(the same pollsters used by Bob McDonnell, Ken Cuccinelli and Scott Brown) that showed Robert Hurt with a 25-point lead over all of his primary opponents. The survey also showed that while a few of Hurt's opponents have moved up 2 to 4 percent, Robert Hurt moved up 14 points from a poll taken in late February.
