May 12 Campaign Update

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Team,

With 26 days to go, we're working harder than ever and I wanted to update you on the progress we made this past week on the campaign trail.

Throughout this past week, we traveled across the district meeting with families and small business owners in Campbell, Franklin, Pittsylvania, Buckingham, Charlotte and Halifax Counties. On Saturday morning we started bright and early at the Buckingham County parade with Delegate Watkins Abbitt. Delegate Abbitt has fought for our conservative values for many years and I am very proud to have his endorsement. From Buckingham we traveled south, stopping along the way and ended the day with the race fans at the South Boston Raceway. As I traveled the district I'm constantly humbled by the number of people who recognize that I am the strongest candidate to beat Perriello and have signed up to support us on June 8th.

On Thursday night, I was pleased to attend the Lynchburg Tea Party meeting. I appreciated the warm reception we received and the tremendous enthusiasm that we all share in beating Tom Perriello in November.

Finally, we are proud to have earned the endorsement of Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger. During his career, Secretary Eagleburger has held many prominent positions; most notably he served as Under Secretary of State for President Ronald Reagan and then Secretary of State for President George H. Bush. He's endorsing our campaign because he knows that I'm the only candidate that can beat Tom Perriello in November and restore our conservative values in Washington.

With only 26 days to go, every phone call you make, every friend you tell about our campaign's strength and every event you help us at will make a huge difference on June 8th. We're building a team that will win the primary and be ready to take on Tom Perriello on June 9th.

Sincerely,

Robert Hurt
